Police investigate Golden Bay armed sexual assault

Police are on the hunt for a knife-wielding man who allegedly broke into a Golden Bay home and sexually assaulted a woman.

Sex Assault Squad detectives are investigating the assault which they say occurred in the early hours of Sunday, August 23.

Between 12.30am and 1.30am, an unknown man reportedly entered the home on Thunderlarra Drive with a knife.

Detectives say he confronted the woman, sexually assaulted her and fled.

The assailant is described as having fair skin with a muscular build and being about 175cms tall.

He was wearing a black balaclava, jeans and a red jacket.

Detectives urge anyone who saw any suspicious person, has CCTV or dash-cam vision of the area between 12.30am and 2.30am to come forward.
