A pet adoption centre is now open inside the new City Farmers branch in Baldivis, providing a nearby option for Rockingham families to find the perfect feline friend.

Through a partnership with Cat Haven, the store is offering cat adoptions, with the aim of saving the lives of hundreds of cats in the next year.

Store manager Kristy Hansen said City Farmers was committed to responsible pet ownership and animal welfare, and she was excited about the opportunity for locals to meet the pets looking for new homes.

“We are proud to launch our pet adoption service in our new store and are looking forward to finding these pets a new family from the local area,” she said.

“All cats are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped before being brought into store and the adoption fee set by Cat Haven for cat adoptions is collected by City Farmers with 100 per cent of the fee returned to the charity.”

As well as pet adoption, City Farmers offers pet supplies for pets of all shapes and sizes, and the Baldivis store will have its own grooming salon and DIY dog wash service.

“We invite all pet parents and their leashed pets into our new store, to peruse our wide product offering, including a huge range of pet food, flea and tick treatments, treats, toys, pet health products and supplements and pet accessories,” Ms Hansen said.

“Our DIY dog wash service also provides an easy and convenient way for pet parents to keep their pets looking and smelling great.”

The store opened its doors last Thursday at unit 1, 600 Baldivis Road, Baldivis.
