Paws to celebrate furry friends
Animal lovers are invited to join the City of Rockingham’s Furry Friends Fun Day this Sunday from 9am to 1pm at the Rockingham Dog Club.
The Furry Friends Fun Day is a free family and pet-friendly event that will feature a range of activities including free basic vet checks, a dog agility display, rangers offering reduced-price microchipping and pet registrations.
City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels said the event was a chance for residents to meet fellow pet owners and learn about some of the services available in the community for their pets.
“Dogs and cats are an important part of many people’s lives in our community and the City is delighted to be able to host an event that celebrates pets and simultaneously promotes responsible pet ownership,” he said.
“Residents attending the Furry Friends Fun Day are asked to be mindful of their pet’s behaviour. Drinking water and disposable dog waste bags will be available on the day as well as free basic vet checks will be provided by Warnbro Sound Veterinary Clinic.”
The City of Rockingham has a number of off-leash dog exercise areas as well as two enclosed dog parks at Bayview Reserve in Rockingham and Acrasia Reserve in Baldivis.
The event will also include a variety of stallholders and will give visitors the opportunity to access information regarding pet rescue groups. For more information mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 9528 0333.
