Paving way for learning

The names of past and present staff, students, and school community members have been cemented in the grounds at Medina Primary School in a fundraising effort to enclose the school’s undercover area.

Brick pavers bought by community members and engraved with their names have been laid forming a path in the school grounds.

The path starts from the back of the school library and travels across a grassed area, linking to the pre-primary and kindergarten area.

More than 200 bricks were bought raising more than $6000 to put towards works to enclose the school’s undercover area.

Principal Karen Davey said the P&C had been working hard over the last 10 years to raise enough money to provide a learning area that protected students and staff from weather during assembly events.

The path was officially opened last Friday with past and present students gathering to share their best memories of the school since it opened in the early 1950s.
