MATES’ BUSHFIRE MISSION
In a show of true blue mateship, two men from Rockingham will soon pack up their car and drive over east to help communities devastated by bushfires.
Cody Mccoll and Duncan Scott Elfes will make the long trip in the coming weeks and plan to offer their help wherever they can.
“We were watching the news and saw all of these charities pumping money into bushfire relief, which is great to see but if you have a shortage of people to help put that money to good use then it can’t help as many people,” Mr Mccoll said.
“We decided to go over and offer help where we can, we have a trade background so that will assist us too.”
Mr Elfes said they were both now photographers and had set up a company called C and M Images.
He said the plan was to also document the trip through photography.
“We want to get on camera what has happened over there and spread the word,” he said.
“I have a lot of time on my hands at the moment and I would like to be productive; we are hoping to go over at the end of February and we will most likely be there about six months.”
They said the plan was to travel around to different areas in New South Wales and stop to help out wherever they were needed.
