Man charged over crash that killed three-month-old baby in Baldivis

A man has been charged over the traffic collision that killed a three-month-old baby in Baldivis in April.

Major Crash Investigators charged the 20-year-old over the traffic crash on Kwinana Freeway about 11.50pm on Friday April 20, which killed a male infant.

Police will allege the man drove his maroon coloured Holden sedan in Baldivis in a reckless manner and further allege he continued to drive the car in a dangerous manner on Kwinana Freeway southbound before losing control of the car and crashing near the off ramp to Safety Bay Road, Baldivis.

The infant and the infant’s mother were ejected from their vehicle in the crash and the infant died of his injuries while his mother received serious head injuries.

The Tambellup man has been charged with manslaughter and dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm and will appear in Rockingham Magistrates Court today.
