Lions gift sound to struggling student
Kwinana Lions Club have chipped in to help a Bertram Primary School student who was battling with hearing issues, by purchasing a hearing aid monitor.
Kanae Tihore has suffered with poor hearing since birth after he was diagnosed with a retracted ear drum. Kanae’s mother Katrina Tihore approached the club for help to purchase the monitor, which will broadcast the teacher’s voice at a frequency that he can hear.
Mrs Tihore said she was thankful for the Kwinana Lions Club’s help in getting the monitor.
“I’m absolutely stoked because we’ve been trying to get him the right help for years,” she said.
“These devices need to be paid for upfront and that just wasn’t possible for us, so to have the Lions Club help out is really great.”
Kwinana Lions Club secretary Dave Nelson he was glad the organisation could help Kanae and the other students in the class.
