Murdoch University Professor Jeremy Nicholson will deliver the first speech as part of the Brand Community Lecture Series at 6pm on Tuesday, September 29.
The series is presented by Brand MP Madeleine King, in partnership with Murdoch University.
The series will feature leading experts across a range of topics of interest to the community in the area.
Professor Nicholson leads the Australian National Phenome Centre and serves as the Pro Vice Chancellor for the Health Future Institute at Murdoch.
His lecture will be under the theme, Understanding the immediate and long-term medical effects of COVID-19.
Ms King said she was “thrilled” Professor Nicholson would kick off the series.
“Scientists are just beginning to understand some of the longer-term health impacts of COVID-19,” she said.
“This will be a lively and highly topical lecture to launch the Brand Community Lecture Series.”
The event will be held at Murdoch University’s Rockingham campus.
