Celebration of light and colour
Chris Britza and Barb Green have collaborated to form the Luminosa exhibition, celebrating colour and light at its most intense.
The exhibition includes more than 40 pieces and all will be for sale.
Both artists are well known for their use of intense colour and contrast. “We both love bright colours and thought our work was a good fit,” Green said.
“Luminosa is Italian for bright and this exhibition is centred on a colour and light theme.
“It’s an amazing collection and a whole homogenous mix of colour, texture pieces.”
Opening night attendees are asked to wear white, as there will be a lighting installation.
“There is a unique experience with interesting lighting effects for people who attend the opening,” Green said.
“We wanted to have a bit of fun with the opening and get people to look at art in different ways.”
Britza, who previously worked as a textile designer, said most of the pieces were new.
“It’s quality art at an affordable price,” she said.
The exhibition runs from Friday September 27 until Wednesday October 2.
The formal opening for the exhibition is from 6.30-8.30pm on Saturday, September 28, at the Rockingham Arts Centre.
