Baldivis fire brigade receives new ute
The Baldivis Volunteer Fire and Emergency Service has a new crew-cab emergency vehicle in its fleet.
Baldivis MLA Reece Whitby presented the crew with the ute at the weekend and said it would help to improve the group’s fire-fighting efficiency.
“The ute will improve firefighting efficiency by allowing the brigade to move people and gear around quickly while keeping fire engines on the fire ground where they are needed,” he said.
Mr Whitby said the ute was requested by the brigade, which wanted a vehicle that could transport crew and equipment back and forth, without taking fire engines away from the frontline. “The ute has been marked up with signage and flashing lights so it can be used as an emergency vehicle just as the brigade wanted,” he said.
Mr Whitby also reminded homeowners to prepare their own bushfire plans.
