VideoPrincess Charlotte celebrates her 11th birthday with a video released by the Prince and Princess of Wales, showing her cricket skills.

A new photograph of Princess Charlotte has been released to celebrate her 11th birthday, offering a fresh glimpse of the young royal.

The image, shared on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official social media accounts, shows Charlotte smiling broadly in a blue, black and red striped jumper and jeans, surrounded by flowers and greenery.

The picture was taken by photographer Matt Porteous during the family’s Easter trip to Cornwall last month.

“Wishing Charlotte a very happy 11th birthday!” the Prince and Princess of Wales wrote, alongside a birthday cake emoji.

Many royal watchers have noted Charlotte’s striking resemblance to her father, Prince William, while her long, loose hair mirrors her mother, Catherine, who has traditionally taken her children’s birthday photographs.

The release follows another recent family photo shared earlier this week to mark William and Kate’s 15th wedding anniversary. In that image, Charlotte was seen smiling alongside her mother and younger brother, Prince Louis, as the family relaxed in the sunshine during their Cornwall getaway. She also appeared to be wearing the same ivy blue nail polish in both photos.

Fans were quick to react to the latest portrait, with many, describing her as William’s mini-me, saying “she looks just like her papa”.

The royals then shared a video, captioned: “Thank you for the lovely birthday messages for Princess Charlotte, 11 today!”

Princess Charlotte, born on May 2, 2015, at St Mary’s Hospital in London, is third in line to the throne. Changes to succession laws in 2013 mean she became the first British princess to rank above a younger brother.

Despite her royal status, she lives largely out of the spotlight, attending Lambrook School and enjoying a childhood that, according to her parents, includes dancing, listening to Taylor Swift and making friendship bracelets, including one for her father labelled “papa”.

Over the years, Charlotte’s birthday portraits have offered a mix of formal and candid moments, from carefully styled images to more relaxed outdoor shots that highlight her playful personality and love of nature.

She has also developed a reputation within the royal family as confident and strong-willed.
