Suspended fines and spent conviction for 18yo Alexia Timisha Walker after stabbing woman in cop station

An 18-year-old woman walked into Laverton police station and stabbed a woman who had gone in to seek refuge from her, a court was told. Alexia Timisha Walker was sentenced in Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court on Monday after pleading guilty to disorderly behaviour in public, being armed, making a threat to do an act, and obstructing police. Walker admitted to walking into the police station on June 2 and stabbing another woman who had entered the station to seek refuge from her. Her actions were caught on CCTV, and her threats to harm and kill the woman were also caught on police body-worn camera footage. It came a month after the women got into a “consensual fight” in the middle of the street on May 8, and where Walker obstructed police who were trying to break up the fight. Magistrate William Yoo said he could only sentence Walker on what she had been charged with, which did not include a wounding or assault charge. Defence lawyer Eric Lund said Walker had no criminal record and was so young that she did not yet know what she wanted to do with her life. He applied for a spent conviction to be granted for Walker to ensure her future was not restricted by any conviction from these incidents. The spent conviction was not opposed by the prosecution. Mr Yoo granted the spent conviction and sentenced Walker to $1500 in fines, suspended for four months.
