Get the Passion of the Pilbara

CHRIS LEESSound Telegraph

Passion of the Pilbara Festival will be held in Onslow at the community garden this Friday to Sunday.

The festival would feature plenty for children and adults to enjoy.

Ashburton Shire president Greg Musgrave said the festival would become an “iconic” event which celebrated the town’s community spirit.

“Passion of the Pilbara is a great opportunity for Onslow to show visitors that it is a thriving community full of committed, creative individuals,” he said.

One of the features of the festival would be accomplished Perth chef Peter Manifis, who will return to the beachside Pilbara town for the event.

He is due to perform a cooking demonstration using local and exotic ingredients.

Other attractions include African-drumming workshops, mask-making and pot-painting.

Kids would enjoy magicians, clowns, jumping castles and loads of rides.

Saturday night’s festivities are scheduled to include fireworks, followed by a Lady Gaga and Rihanna tribute concert.
