The evening’s top honour — the 2025 league fairest and best — was awarded to Karratha Falcons’ Matthew Young, who claimed the DeGrey Medal with 24 votes. Additionally, he took home the title of league leading goal kicker.

In the reserves competition, Karratha Kats’ Josh Harper secured the Matheson Medal for reserves fairest and best with 13 votes. Harper also finished as the reserves leading goal kicker with 53, rounding out an impressive double.

In the women’s competition, Wickham Wolves’ Estee Pinder was named the Creighton medallist/women’s fairest and best, polling 22 votes. Dampier Sharks’ Macy Bruce earned the Bilston Medal/women’s under-16 fairest and best, finishing with nine votes.

The women’s leading goal kicker award went to Zyian Riley from the Wickham Wolves, with 23 goals.

Jackson Ramsay from the Karratha Kats was named coach of the year, while Cameron Ling from the Karratha Falcons received the community spirit award for his dedication to local football.

Umpires were also acknowledged for their vital contributions. James Featherstone won the Golden Whistle, Chayce Martin was awarded most improved, and the rising star honour went to Sid English.

NPFL secretary Jordan Grigson said the awards night was a celebration of the community spirit and dedication that drives football in the region.

“Our annual awards are about more than just recognition — they celebrate the dedication, passion and hard work that drive our local clubs, keeping football strong in our communities,” he said.

“Celebrating our annual awards at the end of round 15 is an exciting way to honour the season so far and build momentum as we head into the Mineral Resources Final Series.”

The De Grey vote count was held on Sunday, August 24 at the Karratha Kats Club.
