Two Wellard residents arrested, face drug charges

Sound Telegraph

Two Wellard residents appeared in court on Friday charged with growing and intending to sell cannabis after police raided a property on Thomas Road.

Police were called to the Anketell address about 11.30am on Thursday, with Armadale Detectives arresting one male and one female, both Vietnamese nationals.

Bui Vuong Xuan, aged 60, and Vo Thi Tuyet Trang, aged 41, appeared in Rockingham Magistrates Court.

They were not required to enter pleas and were due to reappear on Monday when a translator could be organised.

The pair have been charged with cultivating prohibited plants with intent to sell or supply, with Ms Thi Tuyet Trang facing a further charge of possessing stolen or unlawfully obtained property.
