The Perth Symphony Orchestra returned to Kwinana on Saturday, December 7 to perform the biggest concert Kwinana has seen as part of the City’s Summer Symphony event.

The 55-piece orchestra performed the ultimate music experience to an audience of thousands under the stars on Calista Oval.

City of Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams said the “huge popularity and success” of the last two year’s concerts gave the City no choice but to ask the Perth Symphony Orchestra to return.

“We asked them to deliver an even bigger and better concert this year and they certainly didn’t disappoint,” she said.

Songs performed included hits by ABBA, George Michael, and an epic bagpipe medley of AC/DCs ‘Long Way to the Top’ and John Farnham’s ‘You’re the Voice’ to finish out a fantastic night of free live entertainment for Kwinana residents and their friends and families.

“I am proud that the event was very family friendly, with everyone having a great time whilst respecting our request to drink responsibly and refraining from smoking at the venue,” Cr Adams said.

The free event was made possible thanks to generous sponsors Kwinana Industries Council, Fremantle Ports and Lotterywest.
