Adventure seekers are being encouraged to visit Rockingham this spring.

The City and Tourism Rockingham officially launched its Rediscover Adventure, Rediscover Rockingham marketing campaign today.

A range of active outdoor experiences and adventure activities that are available within the Rockingham region will be promoted throughout the season.

The campaign is spearheaded by the Rediscover Rockingham Adventure Holidays competition, with a prize pool worth more than $3500 available. Prizes include accommodation and meals, as well as opportunities for skydiving, wakeboarding, sea kayaking, stand up paddle-bording, kite surfing and an aquatic wildlife cruise.

Mayor Barry Sammels said Rockingham businesses were keen to welcome adventure seekers who were looking to find out why Rockingham was known as “the place where the coast comes to life”.

“With the international and State borders currently closed due to COVID-19, attracting tourists from across our State is one way we can help to support local business,” he said.

“Promoting Rockingham as an adventure destination with unique outdoor activities is an important step in the development of the Rockingham region as a tourism destination.

“Fortunately, we don’t have to work too hard to show people that bucket-list adventure, nature and aquatic wildlife experiences can be enjoyed within a short drive from Perth.”

Rediscover Adventure will be featured via a targeted digital campaign, as well as on social media through Destination Perth’s #SEEPERTH Facebook advertising campaign.

“Residents have made it clear that they want the City to actively pursue tourism and economic development,” Cr Sammels said.

“We hope locals get behind this campaign too by reminding their family and friends there’s no better place to rediscover adventure than Rockingham.”
