Soccer and cricket players unite for a good cause
Two local sports will join forces to raise funds for communities impacted by devastating bushfires in the Eastern States.
Rockingham City Football Club and Rockingham Mandurah District Cricket Club will select players for a friendly game of cricket, followed by a soccer match on Friday, February 21.
The cricket match will start at 5pm at Lark Hills Sporting Complex main wicket, with the soccer match to start about 7pm at pitch 1.
RCFC president Brian Kennedy said he put the idea out to the club’s members and there was strong support for an event to give back to communities in need.
“We share the facility at the Lark Hill complex with the cricket club, so this is another chance for the two sports to work together for this great cause,” Mr Kennedy said.
“It’ll be two fun games to generate some funds.
“We’ll try to raise as much as we can and any donation is most welcome.
“I would like to think the whole community would come out and support this match.”
