Shoalwater boy arrested after robbery

A 14-year-old boy from Shoalwater has been charged by police following a robbery in Gosnells last night.

Police allege that at 10.45pm last night the boy ran up behind an 18-year-old woman on Digby Street, who after falling to the ground was kicked by the boy before he grabbed the victim’s bag and ran away.

The boy was found a short time later hiding in the backyard of a nearby property, with residents contacting police, who later arrested him.

He was charged with robbery, possessing a prohibited drug (cannabis) and giving false personal details to police.

He is set appear in the Perth Children’s Court today.
