Baldivis Football Club 17.16 (118) kept their dream of back-to-back premierships in the Peel Football League alive last Sunday, after a resounding 43-point win over Mundijong Centrals 11.9 (75) at Baldivis Oval.

Craig Hamersley’s Brumbies picked up their second win in a fortnight over their southern rivals on the back of a six-goal masterclass from Brieghton Shea.

After getting the jump on Mundijong early in the first term last week, Baldivis knew Centrals would be keen to make amends.

In a tightly contested opening quarter the Brumbies weathered the fierce pressure from Mundijong before turning the tables on their opponents, kicking away to a five-goal lead at the main break.

With their own match-winning intensity and a few untimely injuries for Mundijong, Baldivis continued to break down Centrals, eventually running away with a decisive win.

While Shea booted six goals in a best-on-ground performance, Hamersley said he was hard-pressed to single out individuals for praise after such an impressive team performance across the board. An away clash against Pinjarra awaits Baldivis this weekend, with the chance to seal a grand final berth up for grabs.

In other games at the weekend Baldivis colts 10.8 (68) lost by a point in their finals clash with Halls Head 10.9 (69). Rockingham Rams colts 13.6 (84) recorded a vital win against Mandurah 11.7 (73) to book themselves a semifinal clash against South Mandurah.
