Baldivis Primary School hosted an Anzac ceremony last week as parents, teachers, students and special guests reflected on the sacrifice of service men and women past and present.

Ex-serviceman Gavin Cowie was a guest speaker for the event and spoke to the assembly about the importance of remembering the Anzacs.

Music was a big feature of the morning with a rousing rendition of In Flanders Fields performed by the Baldivis School Choir before Last Post was sounded.

With his bagpipes blaring, Viv Riley led the official party which consisted of Councillor Matt Whitfield, Federal Member for Brand Madeleine King and a number of distinguished guests.

Wreaths were laid by students and parents whose family members were currently serving in the military and a closing address was delivered by student councillor Kai Sandhu. The ceremony was hosted ahead of Anzac Day before school closed for the Easter break.
