School ranger dedication is rewarded

Sound Telegraph

Rockingham Senior High School Education Support Centre staff member Michelle Boyd has been recognised for her dedication and passion to the school’s Bush Ranger Program, awarded this year’s Bush Ranger WA instructor excellence award.

The bush ranger program supports the wider community by removing marine debris from local beaches with Tangaroa Blue and the ADMI project, as well as planting of native seedlings at Mersey Point Shoalwater Islands Marine Park.

Ms Boyd actively participates in all camps, incursions, excursions and class-based activities by being a role model, developing social skills, co-operative skills and independence in the programs rangers.

Rockingham ESC Bush Rangers unit leader Rachel Nixon said Ms Boyd was deserving of the prestigious award.

“(Ms Boyd’s) contributions to our Bush Rangers program are key and provide many valuable learning experiences for our rangers,” she said.
