School grateful for store’s food donations
Safety Bay Senior High School has presented a certificate of appreciation to Rockingham business Malibu Fresh Essentials for their contributions to the school’s Breakfast Club.
For the past year the school’s student services department has been running a breakfast club with food donated by Malibu Fresh providing students, who might otherwise have gone hungry, a good start to the day.
Principal Alen Kursar said he wanted to acknowledge the contribution Malibu Fresh has made to the wellbeing of students.
“Without people like Malibu Fresh, some of our students would have gone without breakfast - one of the most important meals of the day,” he said.
“We really appreciate the support of (owner) Basil (Paparone) and the team at Malibu Fresh not only for our school but for their support of the local community as well.”
Malibu Fresh Essentials manager Rebecca Wright said Mr Paparone does not like to see anyone go without.
“Basil’s got a really big heart and it is his way of giving back to people and the local community,” she said.
