Rockingham author’s royal response

Sound Telegraph

Setting out to help put Rockingham on the map, author Kez Wickham St George has received a thankyou letter from the Queen for sending copies of her children’s books to the royal family.

A book celebrating the wildlife and natural environment of the Rockingham coastline was one of the books sent, with Wickham St George saying she wanted to show off what Rockingham had to offer.

Peli the Pelican and Friends is set on Penguin Island and follows a pelican who gets stuck in a storm and has to find his way home.

That book and another, Sea Pea, were sent four months ago, with Wickham St George last week receiving a letter thanking her for the gifts.

Her books are published locally by Picardie Press.
