Orelia Primary School will benefit from a $60,000 grant to upgrade two toilet blocks, thanks to the Department of Education.

Principal Joanne Stewart-Magee said the two toilet blocks were about 45 years old and in a dismal state.

“The grant will go towards refurbishing two sets of six toilets,” she said.

“We’re very grateful for the grant.”

Ms Stewart-Magee said money was put aside each year to go towards refurbishments at the school but the grant was a bonus.

“It’s important for us to keep the school looking fresh and as good as new,” she said.

“It creates a happy and positive environment for our students.”

Kwinana MLA Roger Cook said the much-needed upgrade would ensure facilities at Orelia Primary continue to provide a good schooling environment for students.
