The Kwinana Heritage Group is encouraging residents to discover the history of the area with a visit to the town’s museum and heritage cottages.

On Sunday, people will be able explore the heritage area and experience what life was like for locals through the decades.

The heritage site comprises Smirk’s Cottage and museum, Sloan’s Cottage, and Settlement House. Kwinana Heritage Group president Robert Latham said it was an opportunity for the public to have a look around and learn about the history of the area.

Running on the first Sunday of each month, the open day goes from 10am-3pm, but groups can also book to visit during the week.

Entry to the heritage area costs a gold coin donation.
