Online auction to raise funds for Beach Cup

Gareth McKnightSound Telegraph

Rockingham and Kwinana residents are being urged to become involved in an online charity auction.

The Galabid initiative is being run by the organisers of the Rockingham Beach Cup as part of the fundraising activities for the horse racing event.

There are more than 150 items to be put to auction, which range from sporting and music memorabilia to gift vouchers — a Yamaha Waverunner watercraft has recently also been added to the list.

The items up for auction are worth more than $20,000, with the bidding to close at 9.30pm on Saturday, November 11, at the Rockingham Beach Cup Ball.

Cup organiser Michael McCafferty said people bidding and businesses donating still had time to take part.

“It is a fantastic opportunity for people to get involved with the Rockingham Beach Cup and support all the beneficiaries, with all the proceeds going to Rotary, Variety and the Australian Children’s Charity,” he said.

“There is a great range of products there and an opportunity for people to support local businesses and pick up some bargains while they are there.”

The online auction is at galabid.com/rbc. To donate, contact www.rockingham beachcup.com.au.
