The Nostalgia singers will have audiences rocking around the Christmas tree this weekend when they perform a Christmas concert at the Autumn Centre.

Nostalgia Incorporated will spread Christmas cheer, performing renditions of traditional carols as well as a selection of modern Christmas favourites.

Singer Howard Smith said the group would this year be accompanied by guest performers to make up for their diminishing numbers.

“As a group there’s only a few of us left,” he said. “Putting on a concert with just three people is not easy so we’re bringing some quest performers in.

“(The concert) will be a nice way to round off the year.”

John Troft will perform a version of the famous Tommy Cooper sketch “Hats”, while In Step Performance Academy dancers, Ebony Maitland, 8, Indy Donnelly, 9 and Kyle Tauroa-Miller, 9, will perform a dance routine.

Mr Smith encouraged community members to attend the concert and sing along to Christmas favourites and other songs from days gone by.

The concert will be held in the main hall at the Autum Centre from 1.30pm on Saturday, December 8. Tickets are $8 and include light refreshments.
