Mothers in business nab global award
Rockingham mothers Karen McDermott and Monique Mulligan took out a bronze award at the 2017 AusMumpreneur Awards in the Global Brand category in Sydney last month.
The AusMumpreneur Awards celebrate and recognise Australian mums in business achieving outstanding success in business excellence, product development, customer service and digital innovation.
The awards aim to recognise the growing number of women who successfully balance motherhood and business.
The two mums are directors at Serenity Press, a boutique publishing house based in Waikiki.
“To win third place in the global category was a wonderful affirmation that Serenity Press is growing in the right direction,” Ms McDermott said. Ms Mulligan said the pair had followed their passion to build the business from the ground up and said she was extremely grateful to be recognised.
“Like all other small businesses, we’ve had challenges to overcome, but this year we’ve seen great success by running a writers’ retreat in an Irish castle and attending the London Book Fair,” she said.
“Winning this award just reminds us that we’re on the right track.”
The winners of the 2017 AusMumpreneur Awards were announced at a gala dinner at Doltone House in Sydney on Friday, August 25.
