Marlee’s donation for kids a cut above

Safety Bay Primary School student Marlee Finning said goodbye to her ponytail last Friday, cutting her hair for charity.

Sharing a close bond with her older cousin, who battled childhood cancer and is a long-term survivor, Marlee is hoping her fundraising campaign will help bring about a cancer-free future.

The 10-year-old parted ways with her 40cm ponytail in the lunch break at school on Friday, donating her hair to Variety WA to help make wigs for children who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.

“It makes me very sad when I see sick children and it makes me happy to be able to do something to help make kids feel better and find a cure for cancer,” she said.
