A Mandurah Police District sergeant has appeared in court after being charged with six counts of aggravated sexual penetration without consent.

Daniel Gerald Back, 44, appeared in Rockingham Magistrates Court this morning, but was not required to enter a plea.

The court was told that on September 24, while he was off duty, Beck allegedly sexually penetrated the victim at a private residence.

Despite not pleading, he responded to the Magistrate to say he understood the charges.

Beck has been stood down from duties and will next appear in court in February.
