Local police officer in court over sex assault charges

A police officer charged with raping a woman seven times has appeared in court.

Daniel Gerald Back, 44, appeared in Rockingham Magistrate’s Court on Friday charged with seven counts of aggravated sexual penetration without consent.

On his first court appearance in November, the court was told that on September 24, while off duty,

While off duty, the Mandurah District sergeant allegedly sexually penetrated the victim at a private residence.

He is a sergeant within the Mandurah District and has been stood down from duties.

The case was adjourned and Sgt Back is due to next appear in court next month.
