Lions take pride in community market

A community-run Lions club market that aims to create a meeting point for Baldivis residents is calling on the public for support.

Running for the past six years, the Baldivis Lions Community Market is held each month at Baldivis Reserve on the corner of Fifty Road and Baldivis Road and includes more than 50 stalls.

“Baldivis has no central meeting place and no community gathering place, so we wanted to create a space like this for the community,” member Kay White said.

“The markets have become our most significant project and focal point.”

Stalls include baby clothing, skincare, jewellery and a range of local crafts, while food trucks are also on site.

Each month, two community groups are also given the opportunity to raise money, by manning either the barbecue or entry points.

The market is held on the first Saturday of every month, excluding November, with the next one scheduled from 8am-noon on April 6.

Entry is $2.
