Police claim a Leda man stole a Porsche from a Mosman Park home on Monday and led officers on a high-speed chase through Kwinana in the early hours of this morning.

The Porsche Cayenne was reported stolen on Monday and was sighted by officers in the Leda area at about 12.15am this morning.

Police say the driver failed to stop when requested and eluded officers.

At about 12.40am the vehicle was again seen on Gilmore Avenue in Kwinana and it is alleged that the driver failed to stop for officers.

An alleged chase through Kwinana, Medina, Orelia and Hope Valley ensued, with the police helicopter leading officers to apprehend the man and the vehicle on Rockingham Road.

A 26-year-old man is due to face Rockingham Magistrates Court today charged with failing to stop, reckless driving, stealing a motor vehicle and having no authority to drive.
