Group helps women thrive

Baldivis Home Business Network had its official launch last week with a morning tea at Brother of Mine in Baldivis.

The group was formed in May when a small group of working women decided to a form a support network.

The group has since become a not-for-profit organisation and has more than 30 members.

Chairwoman Sarah Blake said the group was established to respond to the challenges faced by women in small business, particularly those working from home.

“Our aim is to provide support and educational opportunities so that women can reach their full potential,” she said. “We want to create a safe space that encourages women to be strong leaders in all aspects of their lives.

“We want to encourage and ensure that women have a strong voice in our community.”

Ms Blake said members included women from Baldivis and the local area.

“They include home businesses, working mums and women, small business owners and those who are interested in empowering women in our community,” she said.

“You don’t have to run your own business, you just have to have an interest in supporting the positive and successful role of women in our community.”
