More than 150 people turned out to celebrate Paint Kwinana REaD mascot Karrak’s first birthday last week.

Paint Kwinana REaD is a community initiative designed to support parents and carers to talk, read, sing, rhyme and play with children, so they are ready to read and write at school.

The free community event was held at Kwinana Market Place and activities included reading, arts and crafts, singing and dancing.
