Fine weather made for a peaceful morning for those living with dementia and their carers as they set off for a pleasurable walk around the Village Green as part of the first Rockingham Alzheimer’s and Dementia Walking Group.

RAD Walkers is a partnership between the City of Rockingham, Alzheimer’s WA and Rockingham and Districts Alzheimer’s Inc and aims to provide a supportive and welcoming environment, the chance to meet new friends and keep active.

The group is for people living with dementia and their carers.

The City of Rockingham is committed to making Rockingham more age and dementia friendly.

Last month the City, in partnership with Alzheimer’s WA and Rockingham and Districts Alzheimer’s Inc, launched the The Drop in the Ocean Memory Cafe.

The cafe offers an opportunity for people living with dementia and their carers to come together in a social context, connect with others in a similar situation.

RAD Walkers takes place on the first and third Friday of each month from 10-11am at the Village Green, Flinders Lane, Rockingham.

The Drop in the Ocean Memory Cafe will take place on the third Monday of each month from 10am-noon at Clipper Cafe.
