‘Drug’ pair in court

Grandparents Ann and Brian Long made their second appearance at Rockingham Magistrate’s Court last week, after being charged with allegedly possessing large amounts of drugs and cash.
Mr Long appeared via video link from Hakea and Mrs Long appeared via video link from Bandyup.
The pair allegedly had $300,000 in cash, gained through selling methamphetamine and heroin.

After a police sting operation — in the works since September — Mr and Mrs Long were arrested after police allegedly caught them digging up purple rubbish bags full of drugs buried in sand at a Waikiki address.
Police prosecutor Glen Phillips said the pair had been “caught holding a smoking gun” by the officers who arrested them.
Both have been remanded in custody and will appear via video link again on February 28.
