Domestic violence unity

Cecilia AllenSound Telegraph

In support of the White Ribbon Campaign, local services joined forces last Thursday to raise awareness of domestic violence by holding a free community event.

Hosted by the Department of Communities’ Child Protection and Family Support team, The Lucy Saw Centre and WA Police Family Domestic Violence Response Team, the event highlighted services which can provide assistance and support and education about domestic violence.

There was a free sausage sizzle, face painting and a Night Fields Clinic and an appearance by Constable Care and Constable Clare.

A one-minute silence was held and balloons were released to remember the 12 victims in WA who have died as a result of domestic violence in the past year.
