A Cooloongup woman described as a “prolific offender” by a police prosecutor appeared in court last week, charged with stealing nearly $3000 worth of items from local businesses.

The woman was in police custody when she appeared in Rockingham Magistrate’s Court on Friday to answer to seven charges.

The court was told in July, the woman stole three pairs of Oakley Sunglasses worth $700 from a shop in Warnbro.

Three months later, she allegedly stole $170 worth of items from Spotlight in Rockingham and a cooking set worth $700 from House on October 9 and 16.

On October 28 she also allegedly stole a $299 FitBit from Harvey Norman in Rockingham and a $199 item from Auto Repairs.

Finally, on October 30, she allegedly stole face cream from a local business.

During her court hearing, she said “not all” of the charges related to her and she intended to challenge some of them.

She will next appear in court later this month.
