The City of Kwinana was recognised for its support to the growth of tennis in the area at the WA Tennis Industry Awards Night on October 6.

The City received the Local Government Award, which recognises local government authorities who are engaged with and supportive of tennis in their community.

The City has worked closely with Tennis WA and the Kwinana Tennis Club on a range of improvements including membership development, infrastructure development and presence within the local community.

Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams said the City was proud to encourage participation in sport through the support of local sporting groups and clubs.

“This year the City invested in a much-needed upgrade to the Kwinana Tennis Courts,” she said.

“The courts have been completely transformed, with a new modern surface, new net posts, fencing and accessible paths and stairs.

“I would like to thank Tennis WA for recognising the City’s efforts in this area, and look forward to seeing participation in the sport continue to grow.”
