Builder shares his business philosophy
Representatives from Rockingham and Kwinana businesses left a breakfast function suitably inspired last week after hearing from home-builder and keynote speaker Dale Alcock.
The Rockingham Kwinana Chamber of Commerce hosted the business breakfast, which was held at the Clipper Inn in partnership with the City of Rockingham. Mr Alcock told attendees how he started Dale Alcock Homes from scratch and, over the past 30 years, had turned the business into one of Perth’s most reputable building companies.
The company now employs 150 people and has built more than 20,000 homes since its beginnings in the 1980s.
Mr Alcock conveyed his leadership style, saying there was no good or bad news — simply news — and leaders reacted appropriately to the daily trials and tribulations of business.
He is also the president of the Fremantle Dockers and regaled attendees with humorous stories of the daily ins and out at the AFL club.
Chamber chief executive Tony Solin thanked Mr Alcock for his attendance and said the respected builder was one of the best speakers the group had attracted in the four years the functions had been running.
