Bertram woman allegedly stabbed man “multiple times”

A 47-year-old Bertram woman has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a man known to her.

Rockingham Detectives charged the woman in relation to an incident in Medina on Sunday night.

Detectives say the woman and the 51-year-old male victim, who are known to each other, were at the victim’s residence in Beacham Crescent, Medina.

It is alleged about 11:30pm a verbal argument escalated and the woman stabbed him “multiple times”.

The injured man received serious, life-threatening internal injuries and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for emergency surgery.

Detectives further alleged the woman left the scene in the victim’s vehicle – a Hyundai Getz.

The woman was arrested about 2:00am yesterday morning and the victim’s vehicle was allegedly found abandoned a short time later on Hefron Way, Parmelia.

She has been charged with ‘Attempted Unlawfully to Kill’. She was refused bail and is due to appear in the Rockingham Magistrate’s Court today.

Detectives want to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the vicinity of Beacham Crescent, Medina between 10:00pm and midnight on Sunday night, or who saw the victim’s Hyundai Getz parked on Hefron Way, Parmelia.
