Bertram bushfire

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services has issued a bushfire advice for the northern part of Bertram in the City of Kwinana.

The advice has been issued for people in an area bounded by Thomas Road, Kwinana Freeway, Bertram Road, Sulphur Road and Parmelia Avenue.

The fire started near the intersection of Sulphur Road and Price Parkway in Bertram.

Firefighters are on the scene actively fighting the blaze and aerial support has been sent to assist crews on the ground.

Price Parkway, Sulphur Road and Johnson Road have been closed, with motorists urged to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully due to smoke.

Local residents have been asked to stay alert and watch their surroundings.
