Future customers, staff and local leaders celebrated the official opening of the Secret Harbour branch of Bendigo Bank last week.

The occasion was marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, the unveiling of a plaque, cake and plenty of balloons handed out by the banks mascot Piggy.

The opening of the Secret Harbour was celebrated by shareholders, community members and local leaders on Friday.

City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels officially opened the branch after reflecting on the opening of the Rockingham bank 12 years ago.

“On a personal level and through the City we’ve always had a great relationship with the Bendigo Bank and we have done for all of those 12 years,” he said.

“In the last 12 years, the Bendigo Bank has contributed over $1 million back into the community, which has been a fantastic effort by them and well received.

“I wish you all the best, I think it’s going to be a great facility.”

Secret Harbour branch manager Bindi Gane said she was very excited and proud to see the bank finally open after a year of planning and research.

“We are a community bank and we are here for the people,” she said.

“All of our staff are trying to get involved with as many community groups and events as we can.”
