Baldivis cricket stars fundraising for NZ trip

Sound Telegraph

A group of talented cricketers from Baldivis Secondary College have been busy fundraising this month ahead of an upcoming tour of New Zealand.

Students from the Baldivis Secondary College Cricket Academy have been cooking up a storm at the Rockingham Rotary Markets every Sunday this month, with the group of 14 players raising money ahead of a trip which will see them play cricket in Rotorua.

Baldivis MLA Reece Whitby commended the group’s efforts to pool resources and fundraise collectively for the trip, which is expected to cost about $56,000.

“I believe that every kid deserves the opportunity to play sport and travel overseas,” he said.

“It will be a great opportunity for these kids to bring back lessons learned and apply these skills throughout the rest of their lives.”

“You can support the kids and The New Zealand Tour by sponsoring the team, or swinging by the Rockingham Rotary Markets every Sunday this month, where the parents and children are running the sausage sizzle.”
