Anglicare puts call out for donations
Anglicare is calling for donations of non-perishable food and personal hygiene products for their Pop-Up Op-Shop in Rockingham next week.
Operating as part of Homelessness Week, which will be held from August 5 to 11, the Anglicare Community Centre Pop-Up Op Shop will provide free clothing, haircuts and food to those in need.
Anglicare WA Rockingham service manager Lisa Farrelly said the event is run each year during Homelessness Week to help local people who are experiencing homelessness or hardship.
“The community can get behind the Pop-Up Op-Shop by donating recently purchased tinned and packaged healthy food and snacks, which are in-code, as well as unused, full-sized hygiene products such as soap, shampoo & conditioner, deodorant and sanitary items,” she said.
“The event is a one-stop shop for the day, where those who need our assistance, will have access to free clothing, personal hygiene products, haircuts and a free lunch.
“It's a positive opportunity for Anglicare WA to engage with people in the community experiencing homelessness and hardship, connect them with essential support services and meet some basic needs.”
The Pop-Up Op Shop will run on Wednesday August 7.
All donations can be dropped to the Anglicare WA office at St Nicholas Community Centre, 14 Council Ave, Rockingham.
