Park transformed for Teddy Bears’ Picnic
If you go down to Fantasy Park next Wednesday you’re sure of a big surprise, as the annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic gets under way at 9.30am.
Every year the park in Waikiki is transformed into a teddy bears’ playground as part of the free, family event designed for children up to four years old.
The event is held by Rockingham Early Years Group in celebration of Children’s Week.
Coordinator Natalie McLaren said the event was a showcase of the services available to the Rockingham community.
‘‘This event focuses on fun and entertainment for children up to 4 years old, while also providing parents with information on local services which can support them in their role as parents or carers,’’ she said.
‘‘We have things like bouncy castles, face painters, obstacle courses for the kids plus the stallholders are all service providers and they’ll have an activity each for the kids to do.
‘‘It’s all about celebrating children.’’
The Teddy Bears Picnic will be held at Fantasy Park, Rand Avenue Waikiki from 9.30am to 1pm on Wednesday, October 24.
Bring a picnic, a blanket and, of course, your teddy.
