Girl, 13, could face car death charge
A fatal crash in Casuarina at the weekend may result in police charging the 13-year-old driver and her grandfather.
A 46-year-old man from Serpentine died when his motorcycle collided with the utility driven by the juvenile at about 7pm Sunday night.
Police said the man was riding a late-model Harley-Davidson motorcycle east along a bend on Orton Road when it crossed to the wrong side of the road and hit the white Ford utility head-on.
The motorcycle rider appeared to have been flung directly into the passenger side of the front windscreen and died on impact.
It is understood the girl driving the car was receiving driving lessons from her grandfather. Police say the girl is likely to be charged with driving without a licence and her grandfather with allowing an unlicensed person to drive. Police are asking witnesses to the crash to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
