It was a perfect day for the Williams Netball Club on Saturday, with the club achieving a clean sweep of all three senior divisions in the Narrogin and Districts Netball Association.

Grand finals across all three grades played out at the Pingelly Recreation and Cultural Centre, with strong on-court performances and club culture on show all day.

Williams 1 defeated Cuballing 1, 43–37 in the A1 grand final to cap off a stellar season and claim the title.

Williams came out strong from the start, taking control of the game with Denver Henson, Kaitlyn Hoy and Emmi Duff intercepting multiple balls in defence to finish the first quarter up by four goals.

This momentum continued building, with Bella Logie and Megan Hardie connecting in the circle and shooting goals from all directions to finish up by seven at half-time.

Cuballing fought back hard to win the third quarter and finish only five goals behind at three-quarter-time.

Taya Olman came out firing in goal defence for Cuballing, showing her strength defending under the post to help bring the ball back down the court.

However, Williams kept control in the last quarter with outstanding fitness and composure from mid-courters Sienna McDonald and Sophie Beasley to walk off winners by a slim six-goal margin.

Henson, who played goalkeeper for Williams, was named best-on-court in the clash, capping off a superb season of defensive performance.

Williams then backed it up in the A2 grand final, defeating Wickepin 2, 43–36 after a thrilling fourth-quarter comeback.

Williams started off strong with a three-goal lead over Wickepin at the end of the first quarter, however Wickepin responded with great shooting from Marley Steere and Claudia Bransby, converting crucial turnovers to take back the lead by half-time.

This momentum continued building with defensive pressure from Hillary Wittwer and Renae Bransby and Wickepin finished the third quarter up by five.

However, Williams lifted in the final quarter with impressive intercepts from wing defence Hannah Sherry and a defensive wall from goal defenders Katherine Barritt and Jaimee Medlen.

Kate Flavel and Ellie Cook connected in shooting, with Flavel standing tall and proving too strong for both defenders. Cook shot long bombs to help their team across the line to take the win by seven goals.

Medlen was awarded player of the match for her impressive defensive performance.

To complete the club’s clean sweep, Williams A3 team defeated Wagin 2, 53–37 to claim the A3 premiership.

Wagin 2 came out firing with incredible shooting from Emmaline Winmar and Jasmine Watson, and great defensive pressure from Monique Phillips Ryder, but Wagin kept pace and scores were even at nine-all at the end of the opening quarter.

Williams responded by moving Emma Liddelow into centre, who held the game and kept them steady to help them get ahead, leading by four at half-time.

Williams kept building, with outstanding connection between Shelly Brand and Loren Bryant in shooting and Hayley Fredericksen and Jessica Carmichael in defence proving too strong for Wagin, and finished the third quarter up by 12.

The margin proved too much for Wagin to close, and Williams walked off with a convincing 16-goal win.

Williams shooter Loren Bryant was named best player of the game.

Williams’ achievement is a huge reflection of the commitment of the players, coaches and support crew across the club.

Winning one senior premiership is difficult enough, but to have all three Williams senior teams finish their grand finals as winners is a special achievement.
